Argument over loud noises ends in felony charge

- STEVEN MROSS The Sentinel-Record

A local man was arrested on a felony charge Wednesday afternoon stemming from allegations he threatened a female neighbor while holding a gun last week because of loud noises coming from her apartment.

Jonathan Trymain Davis, 28, of 114 Manor Lane, Apt. 2, was taken into custody at his residence around 1 p.m. and charged with first-degree terroristic threatening, punishable by up to six years in prison.

Davis, who lists no prior felony history, was later released on a $2,500 bond and is set to appear June 16 in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, on March 18, Hot Springs police responded to 114 Manor Lane regarding threats made and spoke to a woman who stated a known suspect, identified as Davis, had threatened to shoot her.

She stated she and Davis had argued about noise levels coming from her apartment, which was near Davis’ apartment. She said that during the altercation, Davis pulled out a black handgun, held it by his side and told her, “(Expletive), I’ll shoot you.”

She said she immediately went back into her apartment after he made the threat and called police. The woman came to the police department on Monday and was interviewed by Detective Joey Vanderburg.

During the interview, she reportedly provided photos of Davis from his Facebook page and his identity and address were later confirmed. On Tuesday, the woman came to the police department again and was shown a photo lineup of six men of similar appearance, including Davis, and she positively identified

Davis as the one who had threatened to kill her.

A warrant for Davis’ arrest was issued later that day and was executed at his apartment on Wednesday.
