WHAT’S NEW ON NETFLIX “The Umbrella Academy” - Season 3

There’s never a dull moment for “The Umbrella Academy” as the cast jumps right back into Season 3, premiering Wednesday, June 22, on Netflix. After putting a stop to 1963’s doomsday in Season 2 and now convinced they’ve finally fixed their timeline and prevented an imminent apocalypse, the Umbrella Academy returns home to the present day, only to discover that Hargreeves HQ now belongs to the Sparrow Academy. Smart and stylish with ice-cold personalities, the Sparrows and Umbrellas immediately clash in a violent blowup. But with new difficulties headed their way and an unidentified destructive force (that they may have caused) wreaking havoc across the universe, the Umbrellas must convince the Sparrows to work with them to help prevent a new catastrophe and attempt to fix the timeline (again). Based on the comics and graphic novels by My Chemical Romance lead singer Gerard Way, “The Umbrella Academy” is created for television by Steve Blackman (“Fargo”), developed by Jeremy Slater (“Moon Knight”) and directed by Jeremy Webb (“Merlin”). The series stars returning cast members Elliot Page (“Tales of the City”), Tom Hopper (“Black Sails”), David Castañeda (“Sicario: Day of the Soldado,” 2018), Emmy Raver-lampman (“Central Park”), Robert Sheehan (“The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones,” 2013), Aidan Gallagher (“Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn”), Justin H. Min (“After Yang,” 2021), Colm Feore (“Chicago,” 2002) and Ritu Arya (“Red Notice,” 2021) alongside new additions Justin Cornwell (“The Inbetween”), Britne Oldford (“Free Guy,” 2021), Jake Epstein (“Suits”), Genesis Rodriguez (“The Fugitive”), Cazzie David (“Eighty-sixed”) and Javon “Wanna” Walton (“Euphoria”).
