“Rebekah has been very active in the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America organization,” a news release said. “She has served in several prestigious positions in this organization, including Arkansas’ first vice president and as a top 20 national officer candidate. She has competed in STAR (Students Taking Action with Recognition) events, winning gold at the district and state level and a silver at the national level. The state FCCLA organization has asked her to intern under our state adviser.”

George has been the cheer captain at Jessieville and has won an All-american title and All-state Cheerleader. She was also in Future Business Leaders of America and the Beta Club, where she participated in public speaking competitions and “won many awards,” including first place at the state level.

George served as her junior and senior class president, and has participated in Girls State, Arkansas Governor’s School, the Clinton Presidential Leadership Series, and the American Legion Oratorical Contest. She will be job shadowing lawyers and judges this summer. George has around 60-70 service hours through various organizations and events.

The other recipient, Annabel Robertson, is the daughter of Chris and Holly Robertson. She will be attending Southern Arkansas University, majoring in Marine Biology.

Robertson is “another very active young lady, managing to be involved in many organizations and clubs while graduating with an excellent GPA,” the release said.

Robertson lists her school awards and club participations as All-region Choir, All-district and All-state track and field, Heart For Art, Girls State participant, ACC CHOIR camper of the Year, and others. Her extracurricular activities were Fusion Youth, Beta Club, varsity track and basketball, choir, Treble Makers, Victorian Carolers, Leadership Hot Springs Class of 2020, American Legion Auxiliary, Buddy Club, FECA, Student Council, Gifted and Talented.

“Annabel presented us with several glowing reference letters … she is, obviously, a gifted, intelligent, personable, involved, and caring young lady … and has been described by several as being a ‘natural leader,’” the release said.

“We think you would agree that these two remarkable girls are excellent recipients of our scholarships and will represent our community well.”
