CHI St. Vincent named to Fortune/merative Top 100 list
CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs has been named in the 2022 Fortune/merative 100 Top Hospitals list, recognizing it as one of the top performing hospitals in the U.S.
“We’re very proud to say, for the first time in our history, CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs has been named one of the top 100 hospitals in the United States of America,” Dr. Doug Ross, CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs president, said. “And we’re also very proud that we’re actually the only hospital in the state of Arkansas on that list.”
The annual list was published by Fortune.
“(It) is an absolute honor and highlights our ministry’s ongoing commitment to patient-centered care,” Ross said in a news release. “It also reaffirms what our patients and our communities across Southwest Arkansas already know. When they come through our doors, they can expect the highest quality, compassionate care.”
Ross said the recognition is “really a testament to our people, to our doctors, our nurses, our co-workers that truly believe in this ministry and providing the highest standards of care.”
U.S. News & World Report ranks care delivered at CHI St. Vincent as “high performing” in multiple areas, including heart failure, colon cancer surgery, hip replacement and knee replacement.
“This past year we’ve been able to achieve several advances in excellence in our care. We have been named as a magnet hospital in nursing. It’s one of the top honors in nursing excellence across the country. We’ve also been named the number one heart program in the state of Arkansas,” Ross said.
Compared to similar hospitals, Merative found that the hospitals included on its Top 100 list had better results on key clinical and operational performance indicators, including survival rates, patient complications, health care-associated infections, inpatient expenses, profitability and ratings from patients.
The wider CHI St. Vincent health system was also recognized among the 2022 Fortune/ Merative Top 15 Health Systems in the United States.
Merative, a data, analytics and technology partner for the health industry, identified the top hospitals from a rigorous evaluation of 2,650 short-term, acute care, nonfederal hospitals in the U.S.
The list recognizes excellence in clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, patient experience and financial health. Merative, formerly IBM Watson Health, established the list to help identify best practices that may help other health care organizations achieve consistent, balanced and sustainable high performance.
