Chamber names Gilliam VP
The Greater Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce has named Vickie Gilliam as its new vice president to provide management and oversight to all chamber programs, including events, membership, revenue generation, personnel, facilities, as well as relationships with its nearly 1,000 members.
“I love Hot Springs, and I love people,” Gilliam said in a news release. “I feel very blessed to be given the opportunity to serve the businesses in the Hot Springs and Garland County area. I look forward to building a strong community by helping our small businesses and larger industries thrive here.”
Gilliam was formerly Diamond Lakes Federal Credit Union business/community development coordinator for 10 years. She also has 20 years total experience at The Sentinel-Record, where she worked with businesses in advertising sales. She also worked at the Benton Courier and as the ad manager for the Arkadelphia Daily Siftings Herald.
“We are thrilled to be able to add a real go-getter like Vickie to our team,” Gary Troutman, president and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce, said in the release. “She has a passion for business and business owners, as evidenced by her past work history, and she loves to be out and about in the community helping to promote those businesses to help them flourish. Vickie Gilliam is a most welcome addition to our chamber family.”
Born in Walnut Ridge, Gilliam moved to Hot Springs as a child and graduated from Cutter Morning Star High School. She said she is most looking forward to helping her hometown grow and thrive by being a part of a team that builds a better business and economic climate for the region.
“When not at work, Gilliam likes to camp and travel with her family, which includes her husband, Richard, and daughter, Brittni Terlecki. She also loves playing with her Boston terrier, Dexter,” the release said.
