Roy Milton “Froggy” Byers, age 55 of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022, at his home surrounded by family. He was born Dec. 18, 1966, to Willie Wright and Mary Byers in Morrilton, Ark.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Mae Easter Wright; his siblings, Martin, and baby boy Wright; nephews, Trey Wright and Byron Martin Jr.; aunts, uncles and others.

Roy was a graduate of Hot Springs High School in 1985. He met the love of his life, Christina Rene’, shortly after meeting the two wed on March 6, 2003, in Hot Springs. He began working at a young age. For the last few years, you could find him working at IHOP.

Roy is survived by his wife of 19 years, Christina Byers, the mother of his daughter, Kathy Nutt, and his daughter, Sean (Ronald) Canady. His sons, Xavier Byers and Roy Byers, are all of Hot Springs, Ark. His siblings, James (Edith) Wright, Jason Byers, Joseph (Shunaka) Wright, David ( Christy) Wright, Anita (Gene) Canady, Barbara Wright, Shawna Wright, Willene Cortez Scott, Larry (Gloria) Byers, and his grandchild­ren, Jamar Curne, Kanesha Candy and Ayla Tutton, all of Hot Springs, Ark. A host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022; the visitation will be one hour before at New Prospect Baptist Church, 3433 AR-95, Cleveland, Ark., 72030, with Pastor Fredrick Gilmore officiatin­g.
