MALVERN — James (Jimmie) Edward Ledbetter, fondly known as “Pop,” 92, of Malvern, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Aug. 11, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born Feb. 23, 1930, in Leau Fraiz, Ark., preceded in death by his father, William Montgomery Ledbetter, and mother, Rosie Eason Ledbetter. Jimmie was a member of Taylor’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed farming, ranching, and rodeoing. He loved driving his tractor, spending time with family, and sitting on the front porch with Granny watching God’s creations. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers and sisters Mable Nutt, Floy Stewart, Rush Ledbetter, Opal Davis, Leonard Ledbetter, Faye Davis and Margie Foshee.

Survivors include loving wife, Betty Ledbetter, of 66 years; daughter, Carole Tarkington; sons, Terry Ledbetter (Sonya) and Clay Ledbetter (Leca); brother, Pete Ledbetter (Beverly); sisters, Thelma Johnson, Hazel Hill, Ruthie Bass, Shirley Belford and Mary Morgan; grandchild­ren, Trey Troupe, Cole Troupe, Shannon Stout (Garrett), Cole Ledbetter (Susan), Dustin Miller (Katie), and Katelyn White (Kirtley); great-grandchild­ren, Savannah, Bella, Jackson, Peyton, Mia, Gracie and Tucker, and several nieces and nephews, as well as special friend, companion, and caretaker, Linda Evans.

Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m, on Saturday, Aug. 13, with funeral services to follow at Regency Funeral Home, with Brother Jerry Scroggins officiatin­g. Burial will follow at Ouachita Cemetery. Pallbearer­s will be Cole Ledbetter, Trey Troupe, Cole Troupe, Kirtley White, Garrett Stout, Jace Ledbetter and junior pallbearer, Jackson Stout. Honorary pallbearer­s: Tim Davis, Cass Ledbetter, Bryan Jarrett, Mark Johnson, John Northrip, Rodney Tuggle and Lee Lucy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Taylor’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Central.
