It’s funny how one’s mind conjures up various notions from time to time.

The following are some thoughts on which one might ponder when given a break in daily routines or obligation­s.

Given our respective individual­ity, those who take this quiz can grade themselves accordingl­y.

1. Is going to the grocery store and using the pushcart considered physical therapy?

2. Do women’s tennis fans feel foreign players are more prone to “shrieking” than their USA counterpar­ts?

3. Is texting a detriment to grammar, spelling and punctuatio­n?

4. Has patience become a lost virtue?

5. Did anyone else’s usual “green thumb” fail to keep flowers and plants in bloom during this summer’s high heat?

6. When one has a penchant for trivia, does that mean that he or she is small-minded?

7. If football is a seasonal sport, why does it seem to be in the spotlight the year around?

8. Why aren’t our children’s teachers more highly valued and respected?

9. Do most people avail themselves of the city’s recycling services?

10. How important is it to have a sense of humor?

11. Does enjoying watching classic television series such as “Rizzoli & Isles,” “Unforgetta­ble,” CSI: Miami” and “Crossing Jordan” mean that some of us are living in the past or that these oldies are often just a welcome break from current broadcast fare?

12. How important is it to share good books with friends or donate them to the Garland County Library?

13. Is it true what my mother used to say about a certain household task, “A little dust never hurt anyone?”

14. Is going to the movies again a real pick-me-up?

15. Does working crossword puzzles in ink give aficionado­s a real sense of accomplish­ment?

16. Would most people agree that in addition to the words, “I love you,” saying “Please” and “Thank you” are also vitally important?
