GLENWOOD — Mary Lewis Westfall, age 85, of Glenwood, Ark., passed away Friday, March 17, 2023.

She was born Nov. 17, 1937, in Amity, Ark., the daughter of Young Columbus Norris and Effie Whisenhunt Norris. On July 12, 1963, Mary was married to the true love of her life, John Russell Westfall, who preceded her in death just five short months ago, on Oct. 2, 2022. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Evelyn Sue Dobson.

Mary was a homemaker and a member of the Glenwood Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling and visiting with her family and friends. One of her greatest joys in life was taking care of her chickens and her many pets.

Above all, Mary was a dedicated and wonderful wife, mother, grandmothe­r, great-grandmothe­r and great-great-grandmothe­r, who adored her family. Mary brought so much happiness to her loved ones, and they each dearly loved and cherished her. Without a doubt, Mary will be deeply missed by all who had the joy of knowing her.

While our hearts are breaking that we must say goodbye for now, our family takes great comfort in our hearts knowing that our Dad and Mom are together again, and we will someday soon be reunited with them both.

Mary is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law, Regina Smith, of Glenwood and Lisa and Kevin Coakley, of Hot Springs; her son, John E. Westfall, of Glenwood; her grandchild­ren, Shannon McCoy, Lela Westfall, Chris Westfall, Kelley Coakley and Sean Coakley; her great-grandchild­ren, Shawn, Deidra and J.T.; her six great-great-grandchild­ren; and numerous nieces, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Smith Family Funeral Home chapel, Glenwood, with Brother Bobby Lock officiatin­g.

Visitation will be 2-3 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the services.

Interment will be in County Line Cemetery, Glenwood.

Pallbearer­s are Shawn McCoy, J.T. McCoy, Darrell McCoy, Kevin Coakley, Sean Coakley. and Mike Wilson.

Honorary pallbearer is John E. Westfall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in loving memory of Mary, to “S.P.O.T.S.” animal shelter at P.O. Box 824, Glenwood, AR 71943, or to the County Line Cemetery, Glenwood, at the Diamond Bank, 206 Highway 70 East, Glenwood, AR 71943.
