‘Food for Thought’ set for Saturday

The Giving Team Inc. will sponsor its fourth Saturday monthly food and resource allocation program, “Food for Thought,” from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the newly renovated parking lot at the corner of Malvern Avenue and Church Street.

“The Giving Team Inc. partners with other nonprofits and social agencies to provide services and support for marginaliz­ed, low-income, homeless, underserve­d individual­s/families in our community. We provide food, clothing items (children, men and women), personal care products, hot lunch, sandwiches, and social service assistance,” Janice Davis of The Giving Team said.

Resources available Saturday will include Ouachita Behavioral and Wellness, needs assessment, clothing items, tents and tarps; Jim Rardin, free cellphones for SNAP/Medicaid recipients; Walgreens, Grand and Malvern avenues, providing care products; Family Dollar, Malvern Avenue, supplies; New Life Church Outreach, “Through His Eyes Ministry,” hot lunch and care packages; Potluck Food Rescue For Arkansas, family food bags; Literacy Council of Garland County; NAACP; Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance; Garland County Library; National Park Medical Center nurses; SAILS; CHI diabetes education; Anso Divine Spa Inc., Kimberly Anderson; Iron Grace Ministry; Miss Victorious and Miss Trojans; Arkansas Department of Workforce Services, Walter Zgleszewsk­i; Marshmallo­w Clouds, Claudia Cravens; West Central Arkansas Workforce Developmen­t, “What records can be sealed?”; and Charla Dean, Hot Springs Housing Authority.
