Toastmasters Club to meet Saturday
Hot Springs Toastmasters Club 7643 will hold its regular weekly meeting at 8 a.m. Saturday in the Kass Room at National Park Hospital.
The club started its new program year on July 1, having earned Select Distinguished status with Toastmasters International for 2022-23.
“That reflects members’ supported educational achievements, membership level and administrative activity maintained by club officers,” a news release said.
“The Hot Springs club, chartered in 1989, is an affiliate of Toastmasters International, which has clubs in all continents besides Antarctica. The nonprofit organization is a supportive, inexpensive way to develop varied speaking and leadership skills using training resources, feedback and mentors.
“Speaking contests start at the club level and proceed up a ladder to the International Contest, held in conjunction with the annual Toastmasters International Conference. This year’s conference will be in the Bahamas next month, both for in-person attendance and available for online viewing,” it said.
As with most Toastmasters club meetings, visitors are welcome at no charge but are asked to contact the club in advance. Meetings normally last an hour, and there is also a Zoom option.
