Three Toastmasters receive International pins
Last week, three Toastmasters members were presented with their official Toastmasters International pins.
To qualify for the pin, each member has given at least two full-length speeches. Elmer Beard and William Hodgin have been members since summer of last year, while Gabriel Croft is one of the club’s newest members, according to a news release.
“Toastmasters Club No. 7643 was founded in November 1989. Howard Lee Kilby was secretary at its inception and remains a loyal member to this day. Since its start, Toastmasters has helped government officials, board members and business owners speak clearly while giving important presentations, formal hearings, and public addresses by allowing individuals to practice in a supportive, encouraging atmosphere designed to compliment, correct and challenge. Whether you are a supervisor of 10 employees or someone simply wanting to conquer their fear of public speaking, Toastmasters will help you speak with confidence! It is also a great way to meet new friends,” the release said.
Toastmasters meetings are held each Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at National Park Medical Center, 1910 Malvern Ave.
