Bailey took over from Scott Smith on July 24 and had been serving as the chief operating officer for Saint Mary’s Regional Health Center in Russellville since 2017. Both facilities are part of Lifepoint Health, which is headquartered in Brentwood, Tennessee.

“We are excited to welcome Scott into his new role as CEO of National Park Medical Center,” Bob Barrett, Western Division Interim President of Lifepoint Health, said. “Scott is a tenured and dynamic health care leader. He has tremendous operational expertise paired with a strong dedication to people and community. We are confident that he is the right leader for National Park Medical Center.”

Bailey has also served as chief financial officer for Muskogee Regional Medical

Center in Muskogee, Oklahoma, and as

CFO of Mat Su Regional Medical Center in Palmer/Wasilla, Alaska. In more than 25 years in health care leadership, he has overseen several capital and construction projects, expanded service lines, recruited new physicians and led many staff development and community initiatives, a news release said.

“In addition to his extensive operational experience, Scott brings a genuine commitment to people and dedication to ensuring that our hospital is an excellent community partner,” Don Gooch, chairman of the National Park Medical Center Board of Trustees, said. “We’re excited about his already high level of engagement in our community and to work with him toward new ways to improve the health care services available in Hot Springs.”

Bailey and his wife, Vanessa, have five children and four grandchildren. He is driven by his faith and enjoys outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting, water sports, renovating vintage muscle cars and college sports, the release said.

“In the weeks that I’ve been on site at National Park Medical Center, I’ve already gained a great fondness for the facility, the team and for the beautiful Hot Springs community which features opportunity for so many of the activities I enjoy,” he said. “I look forward to working alongside the fantastic employees and providers at NPMC to continue to grow and improve our services and to ensure that National Park Medical Center delivers.”
