WinChoice USA donates $40K in merchandise to GC Habitat

- FROM STAFF REPORTS

WinChoice USA made its final in-kind donation of the year to Garland County Habitat for Humanity on Thursday, giving the entirety of its “product boneyard” to the organization, according to a news release.

The Arkansas-based manufacturer of vinyl replacement windows has donated 177 windows in 2023 alone “as part of its commitment to serving community revitalization efforts, the release states, noting the donation is “roughly valued at $40,000” and aimed at supporting the nonprofit’s Habitat house and Habitat ReStore programs.

“At WinChoice, we believe in creating sustainable and lasting impacts on the communities we serve,” Morgan Wiles, CEO and owner of WinChoice USA, said in the release.

“We are honored to contribute resources that support Habitat’s mission of creating improved and affordable housing for Arkansas families in need,” he said.

Habitat for Humanity “works to address the problems of affordable housing by building and repairing homes for those in need of shelter. A portion of WCU’s 2023 product donations directly contributed to construction supplies for three new Habitat homes,” it states.

The remaining product was donated to Habitat ReStore, which sells discounted new and gently used furniture, appliances, building supplies and housewares, “providing local homeowners more affordable options to home improvements,” the release states, and proceeds from ReStore sales support building funds for Habitat homes.

“Garland County Habitat for Humanity is incredibly grateful to WinChoice and their commitment to helping the community,” Ben Baker, director of Garland County Habitat for Humanity ReStore, said in the release.

“Our partnership with Winchoice is twofold: Winchoice not only donates windows to the ReStore to sell, helping to fulfill our mission of fundraising, they have also provided high-quality, energy-efficient windows for three Habitat homes this year,” he said.

The donation lowers the organization’s construction costs, in turn making the home more affordable for their partner families, Baker said, noting, “Our organization would not be successful without the support from our community partners like WinChoice.”
