This experience was a special one to me. Not only did The Pho House earn our first five-star rating, but my mother who was in from Florida to visit for the holidays was able to help me out.

We ordered different banh mi sandwiches and this will help you form a tasting opinion as well.

I was a little confused when calling to make my order as I know this place as Pho Hoang-My from their signage outside, but when I was looking them up all I could find was the Pho House. However, after seeing the location, I realized that they were one and the same.

My family frequents the Pho House for their famous brisket pho. Today we threw ourselves a curve ball and ordered banh mi, a Vietnamese sandwich with peppers, cilantro and cucumber slaw. I ordered the grilled beef, no cilantro and my mother ordered the pork, traditional. I have had these sandwiches before in San Francisco and I must say I will no longer have to travel to the Bay Area to get a great banh mi.

The atmosphere was nice, with soft music playing with traditional Vietnamese décor.

The big bonus I liked about ordering from the Pho House is that they send text alerts for to-go orders. I arrived as soon as the text alert went off, signaling my food was ready. The banh mi was wrapped in newspaper, which was fun for me as an eating vessel and at a price tag of only $7, eating at the Pho House will not break the bank.
