Editor’s Letter
First off, on a personal note, I’d like to make a shout out to my son:
“Happy Birthday Kiddo! You truly make your family proud.”
Now back to business. This week we are featuring a story of a 16 year old ballerina from Stevenson Ranch who was chosen to compete in the prestigious Genee International Ballet Competition in London on September 19. We’ll let you know how she does.
Also featured is a story of a 51 year heart surgery survivor and what a tremendous force she is. Read all about her membership into the zipper club.
We have information on a group of kids from Albert Einstein Academy giving back to the community, a fundraising event for the Painted Turtle, and a story of a little library in Castaic.
From community submissions we have a story called ‘Warehouse’ by Bill Lyons, a poem called ‘Our Little Kingdom’ by Robert McMeekin and a cute photo of Faithful Companions, Steve and Heinz.
We round out our pages with a clever photograph by Jimmy Iniguez, artwork by Zony Gordon and lastly, a touching tribute from a granddaughter to her loving grandparents on the celebration of their 65th wedding anniversary.
Again, thank you Santa Clarita for your submissions. Please continue sending them to us at ourcommunity@signalscv.com.
Until next week, Eva
