Summer Fun for Children of All Ages Starts Here

It’s summertime in Santa Clarita. The days of backyard barbeques, beach trips, swimming and fun are upon us. Summertime often fosters some of the fondest memories for a child, so why not make some of those memories with Camp Clarita!

Keeping the kids entertaine­d during summer can be a daunting task, but the City of Santa Clarita has got you covered.

The City’s Camp Clarita program at local parks provides a variety of day camp experience­s that help keep Santa Clarita youth active and engaged throughout the summer months. Age-appropriat­e activities, games, crafts, swimming, sports, skits, field trips and more await your youngster at Camp Clarita. The programs run from June 13 to August 5 and allow campers the opportunit­y to meet other children their age and create new friendship­s.

Camp Clarita offers traditiona­l day camp programs for elementary-aged kids and young teens, as well as unique camps geared toward preschool-aged children. These programs provide action-packed schedules and even daily excursions for kids and teens. These dynamic camp activities keep participan­ts eager and energized with a unique experience during the summer that they will remember for years to come. The Wee Folks Camp and Little Folks

Camp provide campers three to five years of age with fun activities including games, crafts, water play and music, all while developing social skills. The Wee Folks program is offered from 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Canyon Country Park Mondays/Wednesdays or Tuesdays/Thursdays and at Valencia Glen Park on Tuesdays/Thursdays. Little Folks Camp is offered from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Canyon Country Park on Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays or Tuesdays/Thursdays and at Valencia Glen Park on Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays.

Junior Adventures Camp is an 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. camp for four and five year-olds at Newhall Park and features age-appropriat­e events including crafts, games, music, sensory activities, dramatic play and a special Friday event each week.

Ranger and Explorer day camps are offered for children ages 5-8 and 8-12, respective­ly. These programs are available 7 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. In addition to daily fun-filled activities and swimming, Ranger and Explorer campers participat­e in weekly field trips each Wednesday to a variety of locations throughout Southern California, including Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, Hurricane Harbor and more. Available enrollment options are Monday – Friday, Monday/Wednesday/ Friday and Tuesday/Thursday. The Ranger and Explorer Camp programs are offered at North Oaks Park, Santa Clarita Park, and Valencia Meadows Park. Teens ages 11-15 will really enjoy Voyager

Camp, which provides the unique opportunit­y for campers to make new friends and gain responsibi­lity while attending daily field trips to local SoCal hot spots like Disneyland, Knott’s Soak City, Universal Studios Hollywood, horseback riding, beach trips and more.

Voyager Camp is offered in three convenient schedules that seek to meet the needs of your summer schedule, offering options for Monday through Friday, Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays or Tuesdays/Thursdays. Voyager Camp takes place at Santa Clarita Park and Valencia Meadows Park from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Many of these programs fill up quickly, so don’t miss your opportunit­y to enroll your child for an exciting summer experience. Camp Clarita has a reputation as one of the top summer programs for youth in our City.
