Usually, location managers work behind the scenes of the movie and television industries and get little glory. But they manage the important details as well as the nitty-gritty when the cameras move outside the confines of the studio lot or soundstage and into the real world.

Now, the location staff managing the hit HBO show “Westworld,” which is filmed in Santa Clarita, is getting its share of the limelight.

Both the show’s location manager and its location staff have been nominated for two 2016 California On Location Awards for their work on the program.

The crew is up for the “Best Location Manager” and “Best Location Team” awards for a one hour television program.

Nominees include “Westworld” location manager Mandi Dillin and the show’s location team, which includes David Park, Lori Russell, Diana Lara, Richard Streeter, Tada Chae, Justin Harrold, Ben Holley, Eddie Santillian and Tommy Woodard. The award presentation takes place Nov. 13.

“They do a lot of the work for the beautifully arranged location shooting,” said Evan Thomason, an economic development associate of the city of Santa Clarita. “There aren’t any Emmys or Oscars for them, but they’re as important to productions as anyone else.”

In other news about shows made in Santa Clarita, “Good Girls Revolt” airs on Amazon starting Nov. 15, and “Shooter,” which begins airing on USA Nov. 15, will feature a number of scenes that were shot in locations around Santa Clarita that residents will undoubtedly recognize, says Thomason.
