On this date in the SCV: In 1921, The Signal reported that the ChicagoLos Angeles Building Corporatio­n was going to build four-, five- and six-room bungalows and finance them, so that the buyer could make a small payment down and pay the balance monthly. Mr. R. Henry had been selected to fill the important position of business manager for the West. He said they were planning to build bungalows at once in both Southgate Gardens and Highland Park in Los Angeles and possibly some building in Fillmore. Mr. Charles Conrad had accepted the position of constructi­on foreman, having direct charge of all the building activities. On account of the large territory he had to cover, Mr. Conrad had been supplied with a new Chandler car.
