A Valencia man was sentenced Wednesday to 12 years and six months in state prison for stabbing his ex-girlfriend’s mother and her roommate at a Burbank home, a prosecutor with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said Wednesday.

Cameron Reed Hansen, 31, was found guilty on March 8 of two counts of attempted voluntary manslaughter and one count of injuring a girlfriend, Deputy District Attorney Carolina Lugo said Wednesday.

After three days of deliberation, jurors announced they had reached a verdict.

The jury also found that Hansen was armed with a knife and caused great bodily injury.

On March 3, 2015, the defendant went to his ex-girlfriend’s home a day after they broke up and began attacking and biting her, according to court testimony.

When her mother and her roommate came to the victim’s aid, Hansen stabbed both women multiple times, Lugo said.

Burbank police responded to reports of an assault on the 700 block of Roselli Street on March 3, 2015, and found three female victims, two suffering from stab wounds and the third beaten, Burbank Officer Joshua Kendrick said in a news release issued at the time of Hansen’s arrest.

The suspect — later identified as Hansen — fled the scene just prior to the officers’ arrival, Kendrick said at the time. He was arrested later the same day.

The three women, ages 67, 41 and 21, were taken to a Burbankarea hospital and listed in critical but stable condition.
