District hires new CFO, personnel director

The William S. Hart Union High School District announced the appointmen­t of Ralph Peschek as the district’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and John Muraki as the district’s Director of Classified Personnel Thursday.

The hiring decisions were approved by the William S. Hart Union High School District Governing Board during the board’s meeting Wednesday night.

Since 2001 Peschek has worked with and for school districts in Huntington Beach, Calif. and Pasadena Calif. He held the same positions in both the Ocean View School District and the Pasadena Unified School District.

In the Pasadena Unified School District, Peschek oversaw all Food and Nutritiona­l Services staff, oversaw budget and compliance, establishe­d an ASB financial and operationa­l system and developed the Business Division’s strategic plan.

He also was a member of the district negotiatin­g team, superinten­dent’s strategic planning team and compensati­on review committee, while we worked with the district’s facilities department and on the Facilities Master Plan.

Before his work with school districts, Peschek was a general manager for Sodexo School Services in Maryland for almost 11 years.

Peschek holds a bachelor’s degree from Washington State University and School Business Management Certificat­e from University of Southern California’s Rossier School of Business.

Since 2003, Muraki has worked in both the public and private sector in human resources. His most recent positions include the job of personnel director and the job of personal analyst for Bassett Unified School District in La Puente, Calif.

Muraki has a bachelor’s degree from Occidental College and a master’s degree in organizati­onal psychology from St. Mary’s University.
