In defense of Messina
To Mr. Breznican: Your article regarding Joe Messina (“Hart’s Messina wrong man for leadership role” published Sept. 23 in The Signal”) is deeply disturbing. It’s quite apparent that you have not taken the time to research Joe and his involvement in our city.
I’ve worked for and with Joe Messina for years and can testify that he and his wife, Tammy, are two of the most honest and devoted people that I’ve known. His dedication to our school system and the success of the students goes far beyond what’s required as a board member.
Considering all the shenanigans that are being pulled in Sacramento, we need someone like Joe Messina on our school board.
Joe hosts “The Real Side” radio show, which is now broadcast in dozens of cities across the nation. What’s remarkable about Joe is the way that he interviews people of differing opinions.
Unlike radio personalities like KFI’s John and Ken, Joe allows each person to voice his or her position on a subject without badgering or rudely interrupting the person’s speech. This allows me to understand all positions of a subject without the radio host tainting the questions.
If anyone owes an apology, Mr. Breznican, I suggest that’s it’s you. It’s one thing to voice a different opinion and quite another to attack a person, especially one who is trying to improve our community. Robert Stratton
