Margaret “Meg” Giovannone, age 74, passed away in Santa Clarita, CA on Wednesday, October 4, 2017. She was born on November 2, 1942 in Steubenvil­le, OH to Michael and Mary Flanigan. After graduating from Catholic Central High School in 1960, Meg received her nursing degree from Mt. St. Joseph’s in Cincinnati, OH and worked as a Registered Nurse at UCLA.

Meg married Anthony Giovannone in 1971 and moved to Santa Clarita in 1973 where they raised two sons. She was a proud homemaker and a Mary Kay consultant for over 30 years. Meg was an active parishione­r of St. Kateri Tekawitha Catholic Church where she was instrument­al in the creation of the Bereavemen­t Ministry. Her faith and a commitment to the service of others led her to spend countless hours involved in many parish activities.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents Mary and Michael Flanigan, and husband Anthony. She is survived by her sons Adrian (Joan), Dion, and grandson Vincent; sister Mary Bradley (Denis); brothers Joe Flanigan and Dennis Flanigan (June). Meg will be remembered by her family, nieces, and friends for her love of gardening, irresistib­le baked goods, and her contagious smile.

A viewing will be held from 4:008:00 pm, with a Rosary at 6:00pm, on Monday, October 16, 2017 at Eternal Valley Memorial Park, 23287 Sierra Hwy, Newhall, CA 91321 A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Kateri Tekawitha Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Eternal Valley.
