Another week, another set of polls released by the CIF-Southern Section.

With a win over Golden Valley on Friday, Valencia finds itself one spot higher than last week with a No. 4 ranking in Division 2, according to the CIF-SS polls released Monday afternoon. Meanwhile, the Grizzlies dropped from fourth in Division 6 to sixth.

Thanks in part to a pair of wins to start the league season, Saugus is once again appearing in Division 6, this time at No. 4.

The Centurions most recently beat West Ranch 11-7. The Wildcats fell two spots in Division 9 and is ranked sixth this week.

Despite a loss to Hart, Canyon moved from No. 10 to No. 8 in Division 6. The Indians, a Division 4 team, remain unranked.

Eldridge injured again

Saugus quarterback Nathan Eldridge returned to play on Friday night against West Ranch after recovering from a knee and ankle sprain.

He completed 7 of 12 passes for 59 yards and one interception before falling on his right arm late in the game. Backup quarterback Elijah Gragas stepped in to throw for 13 yards on two passes with one interception.

Eldridge is still awaiting official results on his injury.

Saugus takes on Valencia on Friday at College of the

Canyons at 7:30 p.m.

Runnin’ Rosen

While Hart has relied mostly on its passing game this season, and with good reason behind JT Shrout, running back Ben Rosen had a breakout game in the Indians’ win over Canyon on Friday.

In his best statistical performance of the season, Rosen had 24 carries for 108 yards and three touchdowns, surpassing his former game-high of 79 yards and two touchdowns.

Rosen took over rushing duties after the graduation of Chase Garcia and now has a total of 363 yards and nine touchdowns.

Hart plays West Ranch on Friday at 7 p.m. at Valencia.
