The Signal

Today in history

-

Today is Thursday, November 2, the 306th day of 2017 and the 42nd day of autumn.

On this date in the SCV: In 1933, The Signal reported that Judge Valentine gave an illuminating talk on “Domestic Relations” at the Kiwanis “Ladies Night” dinner, with examples of the problems encountered in the trial of divorce cases. Most of his difficulties hinged on the cases where children were involved and the heartbreaking task of following the law when it seemed wrong. The Judge said people ought to think long and carefully before going to the courts, while deploring the tendency of healthy, intelligent people to limit families while the weaker class had large families. He warned his hearers that if this continued the future of the race would be doomed.
