NARCAN
The County Sheriff’s goal is to equip all the Northern Los Angeles County stations with Narcan packets for at least 75 percent of their staff.
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors will vote to give the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department permission to accept the donation at their meeting Tuesday.
In addition to Santa Clarita, Lancaster, Palmdale, Altadena, Crescenta Valley, San Dimas and Temple will receive their share of the donations.
“These specific locations have been identified by the County Department of Public Health as ‘high density’ areas for opioid overdoses,” Sheriff Jim McDonnell wrote in a letter to the supervisors. “The donated Narcan will be immediately deployed in these regions to help mitigate this concern.”
