Firefighters snuff out Agua Dulce brush fire
Firefighters wasted no time jumping on a brush fire near Escondido Canyon Road in Agua Dulce on Wednesday morning, snuffing out the small fire effectively within a half-hour.
“It was reported as a 30-by-30-(foot) spot fire about a quarter-mile north of Agua Dulce Canyon,” a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department told The Signal on Thursday.
Several county firefighting units including at least one water-dumping helicopter and a half-dozen fire engines from two battalions, with the help of Angeles National Forest firefighters were dispatched to the fire at 9:58 a.m., a Fire Department spokesman said.
Emergency response crews were alerted to the fire from motorists reporting it as being on the northside of Highway 14.
Shortly after 10:30 a.m., fire officials began releasing some of the firefighting units from the scene.
