COC product scores in Rose Bowl

Georgia edged Oklahoma in the Rose Bowl 54-48 in double-overtime on Monday.

College of the Canyons product Marquise Brown hauled in eight passes for 114 yards and one touchdown for the Sooners.

Baker Mayfield completed 13 of 35 passes for 287 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Running back Rodney Anderson had 201 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries.

Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm threw for 210 yards and two touchdowns. He completed 20 of 29 passes.

Sony Michel rushed for three touchdowns and 181 yards on 11 carries. Nick Chubb followed with two touchdowns and 145 yards on 14 carries.

In the Sugar Bowl, Alabama beat Clemson 24-6.

Alabama’s Jalen Hurts completed 16 of 24 passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns. Mack Wilson intercepted a pass and returned it 18 yards for a touchdown, while running back Damian Harris rushed for 77 yards on 19 carries.

Alex Spence went 2-for-2 on field goals to score the Tigers’ only points of the evening.

Lakers 96

Jordan Clarkson lead the Lakers with 20 points and tacked on four assists. Julius Randle registered a doubledouble with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Brandon Ingram added 14 points.

For the Timberwolves, Jimmy Butler scored a gamehigh 28 points and had nine assists. Karl-Anthony Towns scored 16 points and pulled down 13 rebounds, while Andrew Wiggins chipped in 21 points.
