Q: It seems like forever since I’ve seen a new “New Girl.” It hasn’t been canceled, has it?

A: The seventh and final season of “New Girl” – which stars Zooey Deschanel, Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield, Hannah Simone and Lamorne Morris – will return to FOX on Tuesday, April 10, at 9:30/8:30c with eight new episodes. The hourlong series finale will air May 15 at 9/8c.
Season seven takes place four years after we last saw the crew, with Jess and Nick returning from a European book tour and thinking about marriage. This is complicated by the fact that Jess accepts a job working for ex-boyfriend Russell Shiller, with Dermot Mulroney reprising his role. Other new developments: Cece and Schmidt have a 3-year-old daughter; Winston and Aly are married and expecting their first child; and Damon Wayans Jr., David Walton, Nelson Franklin, Sam Richardson, Jamie Lee Curtis and Rob Reiner all are set to return with guest appearances.
Q: I’ve really enjoyed watching the live musicals that different networks have put on throughout the years, such as “Grease,” “Hairspray” and “Dirty Dancing.” Can you tell me when or if someone will do another one?

A: Just in time for Easter Sunday is “Jesus Christ Superstar Live!” NBC will air this musical opus on April 1 (no fooling!), and the show will star R&B star John Legend as Jesus, singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles as Mary Magdalene and rock legend Alice Cooper as King Herod. “Superstar” composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyricist Tim Rice will executive produce, and Alex Rudzinski, who directed the Emmy Award-winning television version of “Grease,” will direct.
Q: I loved the actress who played Jackie Kennedy in “The Crown.” Can you tell me what else I can see her in?

A: South African film and television actress Jodi Balfour absolutely nailed her role as one of America’s most loved and iconic first ladies. She will star in the British crime thriller “Rellik” (which is “killer” spelled backward), premiering April 13 on Cinemax. The series, which also stars “Game of Thrones” alum Richard Dormer, chronicles the hunt for a serial killer, but in reverse – hence the backward title.
