Saugus grabs 2 wins in tourney

Saugus softball picked up two wins in the High Desert Tournament in Lancaster on Friday.

The Centurions began the day with an 8-4 win over Sultana of Hesperia. Libbie McMahan went 1-for-3 at the plate with a two-run single. Gracie Keene, Allie Enright, Taylor Tonoian and Dallas Andrews picked up one RBI each.

Later in the afternoon, the Cents beat Highland 9-1. Enright went 1-for-3 with a tworun homer and Andrews was 1-for-1 with a two-run triple.

Boys volleyball

West Ranch 2, Desert Vista 1 The Wildcats registered game scores of 25-21, 15-25, 15-11 in the La Jolla Beach Cities Invitation­al on Friday.

West Ranch is set to resume tournament play at 10 a.m. today at La Jolla High School.

NBA

Heat 92, Lakers 91

Julius Randle led LA with 25 points and 12 boards. Brook Lopez added 18 points and Kyle Kuzma chipped in 11 points and eight rebounds.

Thunder 121, Clippers 113

Tobias Harris scored 24 points for the Clippers, followed by Austin Rivers with 23. DeAndre Jordan logged a double-double with 11 points and 21 rebounds.

NHL

Ducks 4, Red Wings 2

Nick Ritchie, Derek Grant, Corey Perry and Ryan Kesler each scored for Anaheim. John Gibson recorded 28 saves in the win.
