1923-2018
Doris May Allensworth peacefully passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018 after a long and ful¿OOLQJ OLIH %RUQ Doris May Lako on May 25, 1923 in Los Angeles, CA to Andrew and Phenie Lako, Doris grew up in Los Angeles with her brother Ray.
After moving to Burbank, Doris worked at Lockheed before meeting and marrying Eugene Jackson Allensworth. Doris and Eugene had two sons, Andrew Allensworth and Scott Allensworth of Santa Clarita Valley.
Moving to the Santa Clarita Valley with their sons, Doris and Gene spent their early adult life enjoying boating, camping, bowling and her special love of golf. Doris was an enthusiastic member of the Vista Valencia Women’s Golf Club and was in charge of the Club Newsletter. She also worked for the William S. Union Hart District for seventeen years before retiring
The special joy of her life was her family and friends, and just being together with them. Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend who always made everyone feel loved and happy to see them. The special times spent with her grandchildren, Jenna and Lucas, making Christmas cookies, judging diving contests in the pool, dying Easter eggs and just seeing them, made her light up. To Jenna and Lucas she was more than a grandmother, she was a moral example and everlasting source of love that they will cherish forever.
To all who had the grace of her company and shared in her life, she will be remembered as a blessing.
Doris is survived by her two sons Andrew Allensworth and Scott Allensworth of Santa Clarita; daughters-inlaw Christine Allensworth and Lisa Allensworth of Santa Clarita, granddaughter Jenna Allensworth of Santa Barbara and grandson Lucas Allensworth of Santa Clarita.
Services will be held at 10:00am Wednesday June 6, 2018 at Eternal Valley Memorial Park (Chapel of The Hills), 23287 N. Sierra Highway, Newhall, CA 91321. A luncheon reception will immediately follow at Lakeshore Clubhouse, 24316 W. Venturi Dr., Valencia, CA 91355.
