Shakespeare Festival: Trojan

What: Troy has fallen. All Trojan men have perished. The remaining Trojan women have been imprisoned and are awaiting their assignments as slaves. Among these women are royals and commoners, young and old. How does war affect women? How does imprisonment affect women? How do women interact with each other when confined? What are their identities without their men? Find the answers to these questions, and more, in this contemporary spin on the ancient tale of war by Euripides. This production also marks the directorial debut of Luck Hari for SCSF.

Unitarian Universalists of the SCV
What: Unitarian Universalists of the SCV will host Speaker on Farm Animal Cruelty. All community members are welcome. Many residents of the Santa Clarita Valley signed or gathered signatures for the successful initiative campaign to get Proposition 12 on the ballot. This proposition will prohibit, among other things, cruel confinement of farm animals in veal crates and sow pens. Not only will these inhumane practices be eliminated, but less crowding will reduce the need for overuse of antibiotics and reduce water quality problems created when animals are crowded together.
