Raising the roof for SCV schools

WiSH Education Foundation prepares for annual Cocktails on the Roof to support the Hart district

- By Signal Staff

The fourth annual Cocktails on the Roof will return to the Santa Clarita Valley on Sept. 7, complete with its usual collection of wine, food and fun.

To assist in its effort to provide funding to the local schools of the William S. Hart Union High School District, the WiSH Education Foundation invites the public to enjoy cozy lounges, fun friends, a live DJ “and all the food and cocktails you can possibly consume in that now famous mini martini glass,” said Amy Daniels, executive director of WiSH.

The event will go from 8-11 p.m. on the rooftop of the Macy’s parking garage, and there are a number of new vendors joining last year’s participants, Daniels said. Among the new editions is a wine on the roof table, which will accompany the cocktail and food pairings.

DJ MAV and the dance area will be back this year, along with local restaurant favorites, such as Salt Creek Grille, Nealie’s Skillet, Marston’s Restaurant and more.

Tickets bought in advance at cocktailsontheroofscv.org are $85 per person and $65 for designated drivers, according to the event’s website. All tickets at the door are $95.

“With over a dozen restaurants, and about a half-dozen specialty food vendors, we should be able to keep both your plate and glass full,” the website reads. This is a premier cocktail event, so cocktail attire is suggested, but please dress comfortably.

Westfield has agreed to allow guests to leave their car in the parking garage overnight and take alternate transportation if needed, Daniels said.
