Several shows lined up for The MAIN in October
Tickets are now on sale for a series of shows scheduled at The MAIN in October, the city of Santa Clarita announced Monday.
Comedy Mashup is up first at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, with a group of working comedians and improvisers from around Los Angeles that unite once a month to put on a show that is a half stand-up comedy and half improv. Headliner Eliot Chang has appeared on Comedy Central’s “The Half Hour” and E!’s “Chelsea Lately,” as well as on Showtime, HBO and YouTube, with over 18 million views. Tickets for the adult-audience geared show are $12 presale and $18 on the day of the show.
At 8 p.m. the following day, the Society Comedy Troupe is set to bring an energetic team improv that is appropriate for all ages. Similar to the television show “Whose Line Is It Anyway,” performers ask for audience participation while creating improvised music, comedy and scenes. Tickets are $12 for seniors and students and $15 for all others.
Olive Branch Theatricals have scheduled four interactive performances that offer a twist on the famous fairy tale “Little Red Riding Hood.” People of all ages are welcome to attend. Performances are set for Oct. 6 and 27 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and Oct. 28 at 2 p.m. A sensory sensitive performance is scheduled for 2 p.m. Oct. 7 and will be brighter and quieter, to better accommodate families with special needs. Tickets are $12.
Eclipse Theatre Company plans to bring crime author Agatha Christie’s book “And Then There Were None” to life on stage from Oct. 12 to 21. Set in 1939, a group of unlikely guests with secrets is invited to a house on an island off the coast of Massachusetts by a mysterious host. As they start dying off in ways reflected by a nursery rhyme, suspicions grow, alliances are made and survival is the name of the game. Performances are scheduled to run 8 p.m. Fridays, 2 and 8 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for seniors and students and $20 for adults.
Residents can enjoy the 1975 cult classic “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” dressed in costume scheduled at 11:30 p.m. Oct. 26 and 27. The musical features sweethearts Brad and Janet, who discover the eerie mansion of Dr. FrankN-Furt after a flat tire hinders them from their travels during a storm. The two meet wild characters, including a rocking biker, a creepy butler and a muscular man named “Rocky.” Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
