Mary Jane Hammond

1937-2018

Mary Jane Hammond passed on to Heaven on September 22, 2018, in Santa Clarita CA. She was born in Boone, Iowa on August 26, 1937. After graduating from Tech High School in Des Moines IA she moved to California to marry the love of her life, Thomas F. Hammond, Jr. They were married for 62 years; her husband survives her.

Mary Jane loved animals; she enjoyed raising dogs, cats and at one time a horse. She truly enjoyed the time she spent breeding and raising purebred Dobermans for show. She was an avid reader. She was her husband’s loudest cheerleader when he started racing stock cars, and an unwavering supporter of her children’s hobbies.

Mary Jane’s career started with a small company, Mission Card. She then went to work for a family business, Rayne Water Systems of Santa Clarita. When the opportunity to become an Executive Assistant arose, she went to work for Answer Racing Products and worked there until she retired.

Her daughter, Andrea J. Hammond, precedes her in death. She is survived by her two sons and their spouses: Thomas F. Hammond III and Sally Hammond of San Bernardino, CA and Scott B. Hammond and Wendy Hammond of Simi Valley, CA; two grandsons: Thomas F. Hammond IV, Andrew C. Hammond; and two granddaughters: Emily R. Hammond and Alicia D. Hammond.

Mary Jane will be sincerely missed by family and friends.
