SCV craft breweries grow

- Rob McFerren is the owner of Wolf Creek Restaurant & Brewing Co. By Rob McFerren

With the popularity of craft beer going strong, it’s great that our hometown of Santa Clarita now has three independent craft breweries and a craft brewpub. It’s amazing that quite a few Los Angeles County cities have multiple family-run craft breweries or brewpubs located within their borders. There are now over 80 breweries located in Los Angeles County with many more in the planning stages. That’s a lot of brewery tasting rooms or brewpubs to visit. Santa Clarita is now the home of three craft breweries with recent Great American Beer Festival medalist Pocock Brewing Company; Brewery Draconum, a brewpub that just opened Telco Brewery; and Wolf Creek Brewery.

It’s also great to see that craft brewing and the tasting rooms of these breweries have become so popular.

With these breweries holding special and fun events throughout the year along with visiting their tasting rooms and enjoying great craft beers has made for a great, fun addition to our valley.

The craft breweries will often have food trucks and live music to enjoy along with games to play with friends and family.

Our Santa Clarita brewpub also has live music, of course, food, and games to play in their beer garden.

Craft beer has become so popular that now there are quite a few companies that offer craft beer tours in different areas of Los Angeles.

On these tours, you will be driven in comfort from brewery to brewery to enjoy their beers and tasting rooms.

Who knows, maybe there will be a Santa Clarita craft beer tour of our own in the future. Our Santa Clarita craft breweries all have the same purpose of promoting great independently brewed craft beer so please enjoy and support your local breweries in our town. Cheers!
