City announces 2018 Vendor Outreach event
Vendors are invited to attend the 2018 Vendor Outreach Event, hosted by the city of Santa Clarita on Wednesday, Nov. 7.
The city announced Tuesday those specializing in all areas, including in printing, promotional, construction, engineering, consulting and janitorial supplies should attend.
Every year, the event is held to offer attendees an opportunity to meet and greet with the direct buyers of their products and services, and learn about doing business with multiple city departments and other public agencies in and around the Santa Clarita Valley.
The event has been accredited along with other city programs by the National Procurement Institute, which recognizes governmental and institutional procurement excellence.
At the 2017 Vendor Outreach event, visitors had the chance to learn about city purchasing practices, and insurance and indemnity-related issues during two, separate 30-minute breakout sessions.
This year, a panel of representatives from the cities of Santa Clarita, Burbank and Santa Monica, and from the William S. Hart Union High School District, are set to answer questions and discuss topics about how to do business with their respective agencies. PlanetBids, a widely used electronic procurement system, is scheduled to provide advice on electronic bidding.
The event is scheduled 10 a.m. to noon at Santa Clarita City Hall, located at 23920 Valencia Blvd. To attend, RSVP at santaclarita.com/purchasing.
