Boston Market may proudly display its name in red, white and black letters, but not in many Los Angeles-area locations, including in the Santa Clarita Valley.

The rotisserie chicken chain restaurant has temporarily changed its name to “Los Angeles Market” in support of the Dodgers, who are facing the Boston Red Sox this World Series.

Like several other locations across L.A., SCV’s store on 26543 Bouquet Canyon Road has “Boston” covered with a large white banner that reads “Los Angeles” and “Go Blue.”

“We’re still rooting for them,” said hourly shift supervisor Daniel Harris of the SCV location on Friday afternoon, as the series headed back to Los Angeles with the home team trailing the series 2-0.

“It’s our home team, and

customers are really excited,” said Harris, who noticed an uptick in foot traffic since the sign went up this week. “We appreciate the community stopping by and coming together for something fun.”

On game days, employees have the option of representing the boys in blue with Dodger gear to “add to the excitement of what’s to come.”

The chain may have Boston roots, but company officials said they “fully support the passion, enthusiasm and hometown pride of each and every one of our teams — whether on the baseball field or in our 10 Los Angeles-area restaurants.”

Earlier this year, Boston Markets in Philadelphia also changed its name, this time to Philly Market,” in support of the Eagles during the Super Bowl.

Some California Pizza Kitchen locations in Boston said Friday they weren’t concerned with participating.

The World Series Game 4 is scheduled for Saturday in Los Angeles.
