Man arrested 10 times in 2 years suspected of DUI

A local man arrested 10 times in the last two years was arrested again Thursday on suspicion of driving under the influence of a drug causing injury in connection with a crash that sent at least one person to the hospital.

Ryan Isiah Montana, 26, of the Santa Clarita Valley, was arrested by officers of the California Highway Patrol who had responded to a traffic collision in Newhall.

Shortly before 1:30 p.m., emergency response crews were dispatched to a crash that happened on the Newhall Avenue off ramp from the southbound lanes of Highway 14, CHP Officer Eric Priessman said Friday.

One person, whose age and gender were not disclosed, was treated at the scene by firefighte­rs from Fire Station #73 in Newhall for injuries and taken to the hospital, one Los Angeles Fire Department official said.

Montana was taken into custody with bail set at $10,000.

Montana was arrested in the SCV Apr. 3 on suspicion of possessing burglary tools, misdemeano­r.

He was arrested in the SCV at least two times before that, each time for misdemeano­rs, on July 28 suspected of possessing a device for drugs and a month later, on Aug. 22, on suspicion of possessing a narcotic.

On Wednesday, Montana was arrested on a felony charge, taken into custody with bail set at $10,000.
