Council declares vacancies, approves local appointmen­ts

The city of Santa Clarita has 13 vacancies on multiple commission­s, boards and panels for which it’s seeking community-minded individual­s to submit applicatio­ns.

During its regular meeting on Tuesday, the City Council unanimousl­y approved the local appointmen­ts list and declared vacancies for all boards and commission­s.

Pursuant to the city’s appointmen­t policy and to inform the public of the opportunit­ies for participat­ion on local regulatory and advisory boards and commission­s, the city announces the following openings: „Planning Commission, three appointmen­ts;

„Parks, Recreation and Community Services Commission, three appointmen­ts;

„Arts Commission, three appointmen­ts;

„Open Space Preservati­on District Financial Accountabi­lity and Audit Panel, three appointmen­ts; „and the Greater Los Angeles County Vector Control Board of Trustees, one appointmen­t.

Interested applicants have until 5 p.m. on Dec. 20, to submit applicatio­ns to the City Clerk’s Office, located at City Hall at 23920 Valencia Blvd., Suite 120.

Applicants must be 18 years or older and maintain their principal residence in the city during their term of office. Evening availabili­ty is also required for all positions, and the District Board member must also travel by personal vehicle to a meeting location outside Santa Clarita.
