Raise a glass of Resilience
As we all know, California, northern and southern, has had devastating wildfires recently in which many lives and property have been tragically lost.
The immense scope of this tragedy is hard to fathom but many breweries in California have stepped up to help those in need in many ways.
Quite a few local breweries have supported charitable donations for the Woolsey Fire in Southern California, which burned more than 1,600 homes and scorched more than 149,000 acres along with, sadly, taking three lives.
The largest fundraising effort in California is being spearheaded by Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. and their founder Ken Grossman to support those impacted by the Camp Fire.
Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. is asking breweries nationwide to participate in brewing a special beer they created called Resilience IPA.
The breweries that are taking part will donate 100 percent of their sales of Resilience IPA to support all the people that were impacted by the Camp Fire.
Each brewery will produce at least seven barrels (217 gallons) of Resilience IPA or more if they chose to help the cause. Sierra Nevada will provide these breweries with the recipe, tap handles, coasters and posters along with recognition of their support.
And although there are many companies and organizations helping it’s the Craft Brewing community that always comes together to lend their support in times of need.
Look for Resilience IPA at local Southern California breweries in the next few weeks, enjoy a pint and help to support this great cause.
Cheers!
