MAIN announces shows for December Note by Note
The MAIN has a variety of entertainment coming up next month, including:
‘Blood on Thy Hands’
A show based on three of William Shakespeare’s most famous plays will be performed Friday through Sunday.
Desdemona from “Othello,” Ophelia from “Hamlet” and Juliet from “Romeo and Juliet” get a contemporary mash-up and modernization in this performance, where the trio resides in purgatory after their untimely deaths in the original plays. They discuss the objectivity of male control in their lives and how they define the meaning of love.
Performance dates are: today at 8 p.m.; Saturday at 2 p.m.; and Sunday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tickets are $18 for seniors and students, and $20 for adults.
10 by 10 Variety Show
The 10 by 10 Variety Show takes place Thursday, beginning at 7 p.m.
The monthly variety show performances for December will be: storytelling with Michael Dougherty, Vicki Juditz and Bart Richards; comedy from lang Parker and Richard Meyer; comedy and juggling by Ivan Pecel; music with Tracy Lee Nelson, Steve Messick and John Bergstrom, and magic by Glenndalf, a professional magician performing in the greater Los Angeles area.
There is no cost for attendance.
Comedy Mashup
A group of comedians and improvisers, including Mad House Comedy’s Ashley Johnson and “Your Favorite Cast” improv performers, is set to perform on Friday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12 presale and $18 on the day of the show.
The Society Comedy Troupe
The troupe that plans to put on Santa Clarita’s own interactive, audience-friendly version of “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” plans to perform on Dec. 8 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12 for seniors and students, and $15 for adults.
The free musical showcase with rock, folk, Celtic, Americana, blues, jazz, country and experimental music features musicians Mike Fleming, Abby Lyons, Ric Taylor and Sara Mee Ran Cave.
The show begins Dec. 13 at 7 p.m., and there’s no cost for admission.
Art Gallery
Starting Dec. 11, The MAIN will also host a new art show with work from several talented artists and various mediums of art.
A free art reception for the new gallery is planned for Dec. 15 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Guests can enjoy light snacks and music, and meet the artists.
