Carol Robinson died peacefully at 78 years of age at her home in Agua Dulce, California surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, December 6, 2018. Carol was born on July 28, 1940 in Cleveland, Ohio to parents Daniel and Flora Szilagyi. She is survived by her three children; Robert Allen, Charles Allen, and Alison Patterson, and her grandchild­ren Mason, Megan, and Brady.

Carol grew up near Cleveland, Ohio in the Shaker Heights community. After graduating from Shaker Heights High School in 1958, Carol attended St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing in Cleveland, earning a Nursing Diploma in 1961. After her licensing as a Registered Nurse, further training OHG WR DQ 1/1 FHUWL¿FDWLRQ LQ 0HQWDO Health Nursing. Her nursing career started in Ohio and continued in California after the family moved WR *OHQGDOH ZLWK KHU ¿UVW KXVEDQG David, the father of her three children. She had a successful career in Nursing, garnering numerous awards for her exemplary performanc­e and being listed in the “Who’s Who in American Nursing” register. After a long career working in several local hospitals in the Los Angeles area, Carol retired from the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center in 2006, where she was the Nurse Manager of a the psychiatri­c intensive care unit. She made many friends while at the VA Medical Center and continued many of those friendship­s after retirement.

After being widowed by her second husband, Denver (“Robbie”) Robinson, Carol continued to devote herself to her most important accomplish­ment of raising her three children. The years after Robbie’s death as a single mom ZHUH GLI¿FXOW EXW VKH FRQWLQXHG WR raise her children and living life full of camping trips, amusement park excursions, and parties at her home in Newhall for every occasion, and watching her children grow into adults.

In retirement, Carol spent her time travelling with each of her children and friends on trips to Las Vegas, her granddaugh­ters’ horse riding competitio­ns, trips to Ventura, Solvang, and the beach. She was happiest when she was at her home in Agua Dulce that served as a central meeting place for family and friends where many holiday gatherings took place.
