Domestic Violence Program relocates
Resources can now be found at the Child & Family Center on Centre Pointe Parkway
Resources for domestic violence victims are moving from the center inside Real Life Church’s Savia Community Center in Newhall to the Child & Family Center on Centre Pointe Parkway.
Formerly known as the Domestic Violence Center of Santa Clarita Valley, the Child & Family Center’s Domestic Violence Program moved over to the first floor of the center Dec. 10, said Linda Davies, the program’s executive director.
Since merging with Child & Family Center last January, the two organizations decided to join together as one entity to better serve the community.
“We’ll start weekly group meetings up again on Jan. 7,” Davies said Monday. “But we haven’t stopped our services. We still offer court advocacy, restraining orders or help with any safety issues.”
Davies also said that the 24-hour hotline has not been affected.
“Everybody’s been super helpful and friendly, and Camelot Movers and the IT people have helped us so much,” Davies said of the new one-room headquarters at the CFC’s Centre Pointe facility.
The office number for the program is still 661-2598175. The domestic violence hotline that operates 24/7 is 661-259-4357.
