Local students achieve college honors

George Fox University

Two former Santa Clarita Valley residents were named to the spring 2019 semester dean’s list at George Fox University after they earned a 3.5 grade-point average or above on 12 or more hours of graded work.

Sophomore Julia Carver and senior Ashton Hoffman were both recently recognized with the honor by university staff in Newberg, Oregon, according to a college news release.

Milwaukee School of Engineerin­g

Santa Clarita native Michael Dougherty was named to the dean’s list with high honors after he earned 3.70 or higher grade-point average and at least 30 credits during his previous quarter at Milwaukee School of Engineerin­g.

Gonzaga University

Former Stevenson Ranch resident Ryan Meehan was recently named to the dean’s list at Gonzaga University following the completion of the spring 2019 semester with at least a 3.5 grade-point average.

“Gonzaga University is a humanistic, private Catholic University providing a Jesuit education to more than 7,500 students,” according to a release from the college. Two former Valencia residents were named to Drake University’s dean’s list for their work during the spring 2019 semester.

Hannah Horowitz and Garrett Morrill were selected to the dean’s list after they both completed the most recent semester with at least a 3.5 grade-point average, according to a news release from the college.
