Ronald Matthew Boute’
February 20, 1933 – February 20, 2021
It is with sadness that the family of Ronald Boute’ shares his passing on February 20, 2021 at the age of 88. He fought a valiant fight after contracting Covid at Henry Mayo Hospital in Santa Clarita.
Ron was born in Rockford, Illinois and moved to Southern California after his discharge from the Army. He spent his free time drag racing cars until a friend introduced his sister Janet to Ron. He and Janet were married a short time later. They settled in Sylmar and eventually moved to San Fernando. He and Janet raised four children, Kelly, Daniel, Gregory, and Scott. Ron was an incredibly involved father; he could be found on weekends at the grocery store with four children tagging along or at the ice cream counter at Thrifty Drug. He took his kids everywhere with him. It was Papa who taught the three oldest grandchildren to play chess just like he did his children. Ron was a member of Sheetmetal Local 108, now Local 105. His sons Daniel and Gregory and grandsons followed him into the HVAC trade. Daniel spent many weekends doing “side jobs” with his dad. Ron was very proud of his boys and his grandsons who followed him in the industry. When he and Janet retired, they moved to Boydton, Virginia where they enjoyed their retirement traveling around the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, China, and Russia. They returned to California when Janet’s health declined so they could be near family. This was a wonderful opportunity for the great-grandchildren to spend time with them. Janet preceded him in death on August 22, 2019 and he greatly missed her. He and Janet are together again. Ron was a wonderful family man who spent time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He is going to be greatly missed by his family.
He is survived by his children, Kelly, Daniel (Chrystal), Gregory (Jackie) and Scott. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Matthew, Jennifer, Heather, Dillon and Logan and great-grandchildren, Blaise, Robert, Ryan, James, Elizabeth and William.
