Urbano “Bano” Ramirez

It is with great sadness that the family of Urbano Ramirez shares his passing on January 25, 2021.

Bano was born on May 25, 1953 in Elsa, TX to Tito and Agustina Ramirez as the sixth of twelve children. The family moved to Val Verde, CA in 1959 where they all worked tending the surroundin­g agricultur­al fields. Bano worked for various companies such as Boskovich Farms, Thatcher Glass, and Blue Barrel before enlisting in the U.S. Army at the age of 18. Upon returning to civilian life Bano attended Automotive School where he would develop his passion for the automotive industry and classic cars. Eventually becoming the owner and operator of Bob’s Body and Fender Repair in Van Nuys, California, where for 20 years he lived his dream of being a business owner and pillar in the automotive community by mentoring and hosting many industry training events. After retiring from business ownership Bano remained in the Automotive Industry working for Mitchell Internatio­nal where he received recognitio­n for being both Salesperso­n and Sales Executive of the year in 2020, a year before his passing.

Bano was preceded in death by his father Tito, mother Agustina, and sister Felipa.

He is survived by his loving wife Alison and daughters Sylvia (Paul) Lopez, Rosie (Alfredo) Manzano and Amanda (Chad) Michaud. Along with his eight grandchild­ren Sofia, Nico, Audrey, Mia, Cristian, Reagan, Troy, Morgan and seven great-grandchild­ren, Sammy, Joseph, Yliana, Jonathan, Leandro, Ezekiel, and Izaiah.

Bano will be greatly missed for the man that he was and the joy and laughter that he brought to so many.

A funeral service will be held on April 23, 2021 at 4:15pm at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Santa Clarita, CA where Bano was a proud usher.
