Mary Patricia “Pat” Anderson

1935- 2021

Mary Patricia Million was born in Espanola, New Mexico to parents Alvin and Rose Million. She had two sisters Ina Lou and Dorothy, and one brother, Eddie. Her father was an electrician, and her mother was very involved with the community and running the house.

Pat moved to Southern California in the late 1950s and lived with her sister Lou for a while. She then moved up to San Francisco and met and married her husband Steve Anderson. He was a Civil Engineer for DWR that she had met in a social group at church. They stayed in the area for the next few years and had daughter Lillian and son Alan. Steve was transferred in 1968 to Castaic Dam and they moved to Canyon Country. Shortly after that they had son Mark.

Pat was very outgoing and social and active in the school system while her children were in elementary. She became PTA President and ran many of the activities and volunteered. She then became the school librarian for the next 26 years. She loved doing arts and crafts with the kids and she was very interested in Native American culture and wildlife.

She fell in love with property in Acton in the 1980s and the Andersons packed up and moved there a short time later. After she retired from the school she became very involved in the Palmdale United Methodist Church where she led many of the activities there and was UMW President for 17 years. She and Steve went on many cruises with friends and enjoyed bowling. At one time they had taken in a foster child.

Pat has had a very full life and was blessed in the end with the knowledge and time to say Good-Bye. She died in her home with her family present. She was much loved and will always be missed.

She is survived by her husband Steve, her sister Dorothy, her three children, her eight grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, nephew Norman, foster son Josh, and dogs Daisy and Tilly.
