Tommy “Tom” Miles Emerson

Tom Emerson, 73, of Valencia, died Friday afternoon, September 24, 2021 with his wife and daughter by his side. He was born April 21, 1948, to Johnnie and TeWillie (McCoy) Emerson. Growing up he attended Adrian Public Schools in Michigan. He worked as a Police Officer in Adrian prior to moving to Southern California, where he worked as a private investigat­or for several firms. After reading a “Pools for Sale” ad, he bought 23 pools in 1980 which became the start of his 40-year career as Tom Emerson Pool & Spa.

On November 28, 1982, he married Susan Pauline Rosberg in Glendale, California. Tom and Sue made their home in Valencia and were blessed with 39 years together. They are long-time members of Valencia United Methodist Church.

Tom was an avid sports fan. He loved playing softball and was a longtime, loyal fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was a lover of animals, especially his present dog, Cookie, and the many pets who came before, including dogs, cats, rabbits, and birds. His favorite hobby was fishing, especially with his daughter, at Tom and Sue’s lake home in Michigan.

Tom was blessed with a large and loving family and is survived by wife, Susan; daughter, Traci (Mike) Moore; son, Thomas Emerson; grandchild­ren -Alex LeVeque, Julianna Moore, Jonathon Moore; sister, Dixie Emerson; cousin, Tim (Karrie) Emerson; and many other beloved cousins, in-laws, and nieces and nephews. Tom’s extended family includes Walter and Odelia Garcia and Jordan and Taylor Wild.

A Celebratio­n of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Valencia United Methodist Church at 25718 McBean Parkway in Valencia. A reception will follow the service.
