Celebrating the life of Harvey Reimer, who passed away peacefully on March 2, 2022, in Santa Clarita, CA. Born in Marion County, Kansas, Harvey grew up working his father’s farm, graduated from Newton High School in 1945, and married his high school sweetheart Celia in 1946.

In his early adult years in Kansas, Harvey was employed by the Newton Flour Mill, Newton Ice Company, and Boeing Aircraft Company. The apple of his eye, daughter Catherine Carolyn was born in 1949 completing his precious family. In 1954, Harvey and his family moved to Glendale, California where he began his career with Sparkletts Drinking Water Corp. delivering water. He settled in La Crescenta, California, and became active in La Crescenta Presbyterian Church. He ushered at church services and he and his wife lead a couples group. He attended business classes at Glendale Community College garnering him a promotion to Route Accounting Supervisor at Sparkletts. The position ultimately led to a permanent position as Head Supervisor of the Las Vegas office in 1975. Harvey retired in 1989 after a 35 year career at Sparkletts. After retiring, he purchased property in Duck Creek, Utah where he and his wife enjoyed spending their summers while he spent many hours fishing for trout.

An avid fisherman, one of the great highlights of his life occurred when his son-in-law Craig took him on a fishing trip to Great Slave Lake, Canada where Harvey caught a 34 pound Mackinaw. His mounted prize catch was always on display wherever he resided and often was the focal point of many a conversation. He could talk about it for hours.

After his wife’s passing in 2001, Harvey moved to Canyon Country, California to be closer to his family. His jubilant, outgoing personality enabled him to make friends quickly and he soon became a loyal participant at the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center. He supported and lunched there regularly and served as “honorary roadie” and “member “of the Senior Center Band and Silvertones Choir. He was always first to hop up and help move the piano.

Harvey loved his family dearly and stayed in touch with his siblings with phone calls each week. You would be hard pressed to find someone that was not fond of him. Everywhere he went he made friends.

Harvey is greatly loved by many, will be remembered fondly, and missed by all.
